ive been reading the hamb for a few years and noticed there are quite a few knowlegable people giving help & info---those i thank very much.but the ones that get my ass is the ones that never did the work telling someone how to do it or giving some sarcastic answer to a person that needs help--were supposed to help each other out not bust balls --let the guys that know answer the questions---to the bullshitter i have this to say-------if we could hook the tools up to your mouths everyone in the country would be driving a hot rod but unfortunately we cant (notice how i said hot rod not street rod)hot rodders drive their cars --streetrodders only show or brag about their cars-- again thank you to all the knowlegable people that help everyone else here---long live the hamb

In the short time Ive been here, the yappin AND the quality of help create the total environment here. You dont have to take to heart every thread here, just relax, read and enjoy. Im fairly new to building cars, but I tend to read more than I post- unless I have a question.
Hey bro.......don't sweat the small stuff.......the ratio on the HAMB of the folks that don't care to share is very small indeed. My expierence over the years is that the majority of the members are great and will always pass on a kind and helping hand where ever they can. Sometimes you just have to say please.............welcome to the family.
It would definitely keep them quiet if their mouth is full of your tool. Not really a tactic I'd volunteer for, but to each their own.....

I understand what hotrodder3 is saying but at the same time, some of the funniest stuff I've ever read was from the HAMB. Just guys bein guys. Ya gotta throw a little humor into a thread sometimes.

I would have to agree that there are plenty of people that are bullshitters that are trying to give advice about shit that they have absolutely no clues as to what they are talking about just to be involved in a link ! Problem is , if you don't know the real story about who and who NOT to listen to when you really do need solid advice and are about to spend hard earned money , these bullshitters can cause you alot of cash just because they thought it was cute to post a BULLSHIT ANSWER . hat's all fine and funny if you are smart enough to know it's BULLSHIT but some of these new guys don't know and are on a learning curve and need straight up "money and time involved " answers !!!! Bullshit to be funny , NOT when it may cost someone thier money !

I don't normally get into these rants but felt I had to.I have known hotrodder3 for more years than I care to remember and can tell you that his intentions were meant well. He has been a hotrodder all his life,has built more serious hot rods than any two people I can think of at the moment and drives the wheels off anything he builds.At 60 plus years old he still plays a really serious game of ice hockey and can outdo people half his age.He also hosts his own radio show playing,"childhood regression" music(sorry Chris I really do like it) and finally getting to work on his own cars for a change. He also believes in telling it like it is which at times may not make him the most popular person on the block but at least you know where you stand with him.Tell it like it is Christie. Ray
The beauty of this board is that if you wait and read the whole thread, you can usually separate the wheat from the chaff. Hang around long enough, get to know people and you'll figure out who's giving it to you straight. And remember there may be more than one way to do things so you'll get a few different solutions to the same problem.
You get back what you put in... That's how the HAMB works... Always has. As for shitty advice, find me specific examples and I will certainly deal with it.
I have to admit, I give shitty advice. Sorry, I'll try to do better..... It doesn't matter where you go, other message boards, local hangout, you're gonna get some interjections you could probably do without. The internet definitely requires thick skin.
I think everything here is just right. Trust me I have had my fair share of dumb remarks as many here has. But like Ryan said he will deal with it. I first hand has seen some of my post taking care of by some one . Good luck and start asking ? that is how you know who is full of it.
I put over 78,000 miles on my STREETROD so don,t say streetrodders don't drive them. Afraid there are way more driven streetrods than hotrods. But I like any kind of car that any person has put his own time into and drives the heck out. Isn't that the fun part of being a car nut.
I agree. The bullshitters get shot down fast from what I've seen. The only complain I would have would be the thread titles. It would help doing searches if the title matched the question and the subject. There's some threads out there with "bullshit" titles with good information that I'm willing to bet get skimmed right over. That's my only bitch. Jeff

Part of being a hot rodder is seperating the wheat from the chaff. Some of the most f*cked up advice I've ever gotten was from "experts", many of those guys know one solution real well and try to apply it to every problem. Others sometimes have an excellent solution, but the inability to articulate it, and it comes across as ignorant. Just gotta sort it out..... The HAMB is one part expert, one part amateur, one part Don Rickles. But at least an intelligent solution lies somewhere in the mix, which is a lot more than other forums. It is what you make it, fun or stress.
