BUMP STEER KIT FOR 1940 CHEVY

Discussion in 'Off Topic Hot Rods & Customs' started by johnrfray, Mar 11, 2026 at 11:39 AM.

  1. Is there a bump steer kit out there for 1940 chevy coupe, upgrading front end mustang 2 is not a option, but a bolt on rack to go on stock front end could be.

IIRC on the actual knee action front suspension, roll/bump steer is not an issue.
Steering arms are attached to the spring/shock 'knee' ***embly which is directly attached to the ch***is with a king pin. These parts only steer. No balljoints.
There is no bump/roll induced steering.
If you install a rack&pinion, you can move it fore/aft, which would change Ackerman.
