Well, after 10 months of hassle, three trips to thier shop and 14 phone calls I finally got my last parts back from The Bumper Boyz. And here is what I got- 1. They sent me a right headlight door (to supplement the two left side ones I got back the first time) and it is bent. 2. They sent me turn signal housings that appear to be from different models- one is curved to fit a concave bumper and one is curved to fit a convex bumper- I'm not sure which one will fit my bumper but I am positive that both don't fit the same bumper. 3. They sent me two different door panel mouldings- one that clips over the panel (which is like the ones I gave them) and another that isn't even remotely the same type. They are either stupid or they think I am. I swore I would ride them until they got it right, but I really just have to give up, buy some new core parts and start over with a shop that doesn't suck. They will never get it right and I have to move on. Anyway, add this to the anti-bumper boyz testimonial files.
i know i'll steer clear from them from past talk on here. sucks about your parts, man. have you reported their punk asses to the better business bureau or anything, or would that be a waste of time? hope your parts search doesn't sidetrack you all that much.
What's their street address? I've been looking for it and can't find it listed anywhere. I'm looking to buy a bumper outright, in person.
I was just curious about their operation.... Do they treat people like shit in person? Like, do they carry normal business fire insurance...? Do they have all their fingers? Does the EPA visit them enough? Just simple curiosities. So what's their address?
In person they tell you what you want to hear. . . If you want cheap- have you tried CustomChrome in long beach- TV and Framedragger say its cheaper and better quality. That's where I'm going when I track down new cores. The Boyz are at 2435 E 54th St. - its your $.

Also has the local Fire Dept gave them their yearly surprise inspection?? OSHA slid by and said hello lately...you know just a friendly visit

My buddy got his '60 Chev pu bumpers from them, but did it on an exchange basis at Pleasanton. I had no idea they sucked so bad. I doubt we'll use them any more. Good luck with your search for new old parts. I'll keep my eyes open when I'm at the local yards. Oh, yeah. I guess it would help to know what kind of car you have, PTLowered. I haven't been around this board long enough to have seen it before.
I always figured the Boyz send all their pieces to Mexico for the actual work. Workers that probably don't speak or read Engish might explain so many mixed up parts orders coming back.
I often refer bumper people to bumperboyz and wheel boyz, as long as they get exchanges, then they just keep exchanging them if they don't like something. I never recommend sending work to them. Many of the west coast shops appear to be sending work to mexico, I've been quoted prices I wouldn't even put parts on the rack for, yet in california they have the highest electricity bills in the U.S.A. and they undercut me by 50% or more every time. If you want good work, find a shop you like, send them clean parts with prep to 320 grit for triple plate, 800 for nickel chrome and pay what it takes. At least you'll get a good result and know what you're going to get every time. There's an old saying " Pay peanuts, catch monkeys" Of course the worst is when you pay good cash and still catch monkeys. Stay with who you know. It's easier and cheaper in the long run.
