I ordered a rear bumper for a 54 Merc wagon from these guys and what I got was a fabricated standard bumper welded up to look like a wagon bumper. The bumper looked real nice but it didn't look like a wagon bumper. Has anyone else had trouble with these guys? I have contacted them, but they have not fixed the problem yet.
Bumper Boyz.... Several complaints filed with the Attorney Generals Office here in Indiana. I don't know how many it takes for an out of state company to lose there license to vend in the state but they should have been gone by now. They really do suck. It's funny but when they burned me, I did a search on the net to see what I could find, and that's how I stumbled on to the HAMB. I just wish I would have HAMB wise a few months sooner. Good luck.
As already been stated their plating doesn't stand up to the test of time. But I have a question,,what's the difference in a passenger bumper and a wagon with the '54 Mercury? HRP
Chalk me up as a victim. I bought some of their junk in the 90s. Chrome didn't peel but it started rusting almost as soon as I installed the bumpers. Not to mention they ones I got were rechromed bent cores that had been straightened by a blind man. Had to shim the frt one cuz it was so crooked.
Wow! This is as informative as saying sharks swim in the ocean. Why did I waste time opening yet ANOTHER stupid bumper boys post? Total disbelief that yet ANOTHER person bought something from them and was disappointed. Yep- happened to me once too.
That is exactly HOW they stay in business...selling to the uninformed...and most of those uninformed that got burnt will do nothing but bitch... Sorry you got burned Jim, I didn't...had a friend that did tho and I shyed away after that... R-
To the contrary - Several years back (at least 10 years) , my friend got bumpers from the Bumper Boyz for his '55 BelAir hardtop we restored for him - the bumpers fit fine & looked good . They looked great for years , till he sold it a couple years ago . He was totally satisfied ... maybe he was "that one guy" .
