1952-59 Ford Bumper interchange question

Does anyone know if 1953 and 1954 Ford bumpers (front and rear) are interchangable? I was thinking someone told me that the fronts are different but the rears are the same.

 

I know that the bumper guards are different but not sure on the bumper bars.

 

'52/'53 & '54 Ford rear bumpers are all the same, the '52 &'53 Ford front bumpers are the same but the '54 Ford front bumper is different. HRP

 

Thanks HRP- that's what I thought. I saw a 1953 parts car for sale locally and was making a mental note of all the parts that might be of use for my 54 project.

 

By chance is the parts car a club coupe?

 

The parts car is a regular 2 door sedan; my 54 project is a club coupe. Are you looking for a part?

 

I may be crazy but I want to convert my mainline business coupe fixed rear windows to roll down window but I'd need the whole inside sheet metal and regulators.

 

The curvature of the 1953 & 1954 front bumpers are night and day different and conform to the reshape of the front splash pans. Check out the 1949-1959 Ford Parts Manual for the Illustrations that show both.

 

You may be able to use the '53 Bumper on a '54 Ford but you would have to use the splash apron from the '53 also, as Jeff pointed out in his reply above the curvature is night and day different. HRP
