I have a pair of these Bumper support pieces. they bolt from under the car to the outer corners of a bumper.I thought they were 57-58.. but are completely different... they have a longer reach....
anyone know if they are from 55,56 or 59?
    Or....?????

    Thanks guys.

I know they're not '52-'54. You can eliminate those.

By "under the car" you meant what? I believe those bolt to the fenders, I'll look at mine. I believe those are the reason so many '57 fenders have a crown to them above the center of the wheel well..........if the bumper is hit hard enough, the movement, although sometimes temporary, transmits to the fender because of those braces causing it to "bow/bend" in the weakest area.
lol, years ago, I read a post by someone who's bodyshop guy thought those "bowed fenders" were suppose to be that way because every '57 he ever worked on was that way. I had an extra set of fenders that had that bow on one of them.

I looked. I misspoke. Mine do look like that, but they don't go directly to the fender. The 2 hole portion bolts on to where the splash shield behind the parking lights attaches to the long splash pan, which should then leave the single hole lined up with the bumper bolt.

They are Not 57 or 58
I already have a proper set bolted to the splash box and then to the bumpers.
    So if not 52-54… or 57-58… 59?
    Or possibly 55-56?

    I'd say 55-56.

Correct. They mount to the front apron and bumper.

Front or rear? Definitely not the front of a '59. I'd have to look at the rear later on. I never had the back bumper off.

I think we found the answer. 55-56 front bumper supports....
I only asked this question because I grabbed them to use on my second 57..... no fitment whatsoever ever...
I have another proper pair... so I am good in that dept.
I just wanted to identify for future use.
    thanks all

Good, I wasn't crazy about crawling under the car anyway. But my front brackets were m***ive by comparison to what you have. I had to make up a fender brace from some strap steel, that was 3/16" x 1" from Ace Hardware.
