  9. I don't mean to offend, but I hate those bumpers. Especially on anything but a Plymouth. Just my opinion. I think it takes away from your car, which I might add, looks awesome...

I wasn't offended. It'd take alot more than someone not liking my bumper to offend me. i ran the plymouth bumper cause it came with the car, and I didn't have the money to spend on buying parts for a custom bumper. that and I like it :D

I'll be putting '49 Ford bumpers on my '51.
The '51 bumpers are too big and ugly.

  12. Yea, I ran that Winfield wing grill, because it came with my Merc. I didn't like it either. I know exactly what you're saying. Some guys on here can't take critism, without calling you out, HA HA HA!!!
Didn't you have it for sale, a while back?

yeh Id prefer the smooth 49 bumpers with smoothed bolts on my 51, but with chroming becoming unaffordable, not likely. the chev bumper on that green one looks brilliant!

i like the Caddy ends they look almost EVIL! im thinking about going with a 56/57 Oldsmobile front bumper and 55 or 56 Pontiac rear on my 49 Ford. im going to use 56 chevy side trim and 55 chevy headlights, so might as well keep the GM feeling going huh? a 57 Buford front might look good also ( kinds like a 57 chebby).

you could still do the desoto bumpers, www.thenightprowlers.com has them, though the ribs don't seem to be too well liked.

i have to agree on the Plymouth rib bumper... doesnt look good IMO. doesnt seem to fit the lines of the car at all, too shallow.

i really like the narrowed tr-5 Chevy bumpers though... very nice.

  26. I used 51 Merc front and rear on mine. Narrowed and shaved.I also ran the exhaust through the guards. Worked for me. You can see it at www.timebombs.ca under the Shoeze and friends gallery...Time-Bomb John

  27. Got '49 Plymouth originals for my '50 also. They were free, straight and have nice chrome as opposed to my originals which were exactly the opposite shape.
