I've got a paperback book that tells the history of the signs and lists all 600 of the verses and which years they came out. I bought my set of Burma Shave signs several years ago from a guy in Wyoming and was able to locate the verse in the book. Jim
don't lose your head to save a minute you need your head your brains are in it...new ones pop up in my area every so often. pretty catchy
Visual pollution is on your tv set every day. At least the Burma shave signs add a little humor to life.

When is was a little kid (4-7 years old) we traveled all over the country in a '36 Ford pulling a small trailer to live in. I was so impressed with the Burma Shave signs, that now (at 68 years old) made this third brake light in the back window of my Biscayne!!!!
next to Ontario, CA airport, there is a road that had the Bruma Shave signs. Last time I saw it was 2 years ago so I don't know if it's still there. Maybe I will take a drive and see.
The last one I saw was on the old hwy 99 heading South from Ahland, Ore. It said,,"Ben met Anna, made a hit,,,,,,he wouldn't shave,,,,,Ben, Anna split. It hasn't been there since th late 50's.
There was one between Crossville and Cookeville Tenn that said 30 days has September, april, june and the speed-offender. Was right past one of the worst beer joints in the county. It was on US 70 also known as Thunder Road back towards Knoxville.
There are some of those going to and leaving Seligman, Az can't remember what they say but I'll see em again when I go to the fun run this year. Seems like people stopped to look at things and admire things more then, rather than just doing 80 MPH down the highway and not caring.
My Dad grew in the St. Paul , Minneapolis area and spend a year and a half putting those damn things up and taking them down. Heard lots of good stories over the years.
