Im thinking of possibly making a 9 hour trip to the round up to find a hot rod to buy... is the trip worth it? Lots of cars there for sale?
Well worth the drive. Perhaps put a guide line out there for the ride you are looking for and some one may contact you prior to the roundup to meet there.
I've been attending LSRU for six years. There are always a number of cars for sale. I bought my roadster there. Its a great site to find a HAMB friendly car.
Probably the best event in the south; well attended, great cars, great music, great swap meet.I guarantee the best $20 you will ever spend.Once you attend, you will be back.I missed number 1,2,3 then made the rest of them! What a great event!!!!
I've made the 21 hr trip 1 way 5 yrs ago and regret that I haven't been back sooner than this coming one.
Ditto, the show will be worth it even if you don't find the car you are looking for. Never miss a chance to attend the LSRU.
I'll be there with this and it will be available, just coming out of the trim shop 2morrow with all new interior
Get there far enough in advance for the shop crawl. This way, you can see what local builders have in process. It could lead to finding the perfect car; through them, their customers or at the show
Got that right. Plan on being completely overwhelmed by the cars and masses. Plenty of cars for sale. Actually, pretty much everything is for sale for the right price. As for going to the event, plan on lots of waiting. Waiting to get into the parking lot and park, waiting to ge in, waiting to get a drink, etc etc. Be prepared to walk for miles and bring the sun screen. The heat is already remping up, it could be in the 90's next week! Enjoy the ultimate hot rod experience.
The LSRU is not just in one place in Austin, and not a one day event. You can pick and choose what parts that interest you and just avoid the others or hit the car show and swap meet during the day and the music and bar stuff at night. I'm a seasoned citizen and like the swap meet and Pin Up contest.
Somebody screwed up and scheduled the New Braunfels swapmeet the same weekend. I imagine that LSRU will impact attendance there, but there is another car corral just down the road a bit.
Last year I saw a nice original Model A for sale there. I tried to find the owner all weekend but never did.
