I was lucky enough to make a living in the hot rod biz for over 40 years. Owned an advertising and marketing company with a client list that included Offenhauser Sales, JE Pistons, Jardine Headers, Crower Cams, Bill Thomas Race Cars, Weber Clutches, PerLux (now Petronix), EELCO, W&H DuCoil, Carrillo Rods, Kellison Industries and others that have come and gone. I attended the first speed equipment trade show at the Disneyland Hotel two years before the first SEMA show at Dodger Stadium. When I joined SEMA, Dean Moon was president and it was the politically incorrect SPEED EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER'S ***OCIATION. Also wrote 100's of features for automotive trade magazines as well as stuff or HOT ROD and ROD & CUSTOM. Built 14 cars that ended up on the pages of magazines. Current rides include a Zipper Lakes car with a '31 Model a engine, a '29 C-Cab with a B motor equipped with an original CRAGAR OHV and a 1942 Chris-Craft Deluxe Sport Utility that I tow behind a 1948 Chrysler Town & Country rag top. I'm into high tech old school! The Zipper car has a single Mooneyes EFI throttle body on an old Ansen intake. The '36 style water pump is a Harry Fry unit with ceramic seals. The ignition is Petronix in a '32 B distributor. Steering gear is a Schroeder sprint car box and the wheels are NOS 16". I find the HAMB group interesting. Memories are tricky things. The only iron cross stuff I remember from the 50's is the Schnieder Cam decals.
Welcome to the HAMB,,,,,sounds like you been around the block a few times,,,,I think ya found a new home! HRP
Welcome to the HAMB, as long as you are buying parts with your Social Security Checks I'll keep paying into it, sounds as if you have some real nice rides, enjoy your retirement. BIG D
Welcome aboard. It's perfectly fine to use social secrity to pay for parts. It's not ok, however, to sell food stamps for a set of finned valve covers.
