Hot Rods Buying a car from a HAMB board

After searching high and low I found a car here on the HAMB that I want to buy. I am in Seattle and car is in Raleigh. Looking for a recommendation or two on shipping as well as any ideas on a service to inspect the car for me and any advice on how to pay (should I use an escrow service?) that any of you may have. It's not really in the cards to fly to Raleigh so if anybody has helpful hints they are greatly appreciated!

 

If you are really polite you may get @flamedabone to take a look at it for you or perhaps @HOTRODPRIMER I think one of them guys is close to Raleigh.

If it were me I would contact @BenD about hauling it. He may not want to make the trek to Washington today but may know someone who would.

As for escrow my best suggestion is to work with your bank. I did one last year when I was helping a friend pick up a high end OT car and my bank was very accommodating.

 

Yup, bank to bank transfer. When I bought my 61 from Murph here on the HAMB that's the way we did it. SUPER easy. I tried to use a few of the guys here that transport (keep it in the family) but they were all busy

 

Just another note, make sure you have references for the seller.
Place of work, current address also maybe other HAMBer that can vouch for them.
Also call the bank and make sure this is regular customer.

This just a note to others using bank to bank wiring, even that can go wrong.

You need to be able to cover your butt.
