I just bought back a ’59 Chevy Apache. I sold this truck 15 years ago to concentrate on other projects. I often wondered if it was still around. It is a solid truck with factory NAPCO 4WD. While it’s too bad someone else’s dream to restore it didn’t work out, I am very pleased to see it in pretty much the same condition I left it. I’m glad it hasn’t been taken apart or molested. If it was restored, I never could have afforded to get it back. I got lucky. I’m sure there are other stories out there good and bad of re-found lost love. Care to share? I'll share a tip I learned. The benefit of delivering a car to its new owner is that you know where it is. At least, I'm more likely to remember a place than a name and number. My Dad bought back his first car. I don’t think it was gone as long, but it was long enough to acquire a maroon paint job that it wears to this day. He bought his Briggs Model A in 1963. It was gone for a few years in the 1970s. He’s still proud of it. 2001: Today: 1965: Today:

wish i'd never sold my '64 impala ss convert. the guy that bought it was a total heathen. i saw it a couple of years later--had another owner, but my really cherry ride looked like someone had been throwing gravel at it. they asked how i knew it was mine--i recognized a small crack in a corner of the windshield...
I liked your story. Were you born in '56? I don't see a 56 model car in your profile. Your username is close to my first vanity plate.
Haven't had an opportunity, but I sure would buy my 56 Chevy pickup back! I miss her. SNIFF. Congrats!
I just saw and a car I built in the 80's on ebay it was good to see it still going, but I let it pass .
I bought back a 56 Chevy from the guy I sold it to. Didn't take long for me to remember why I sold it in the first place
My 1939 Ford Coupe with an Olds engine with 3-2s? I guess I would like it back. Sold in 1965. Last seen as a dirt track racer in the 70's. Bill
I'd buy back my OT 66 GTA Fairlane convertible. Chances are I wouldn't get it back for what my sale price was. Not that I could afford it now. No liquid****ets at present.
Wow lucky. I like to hear the story my grandfather that is passed now had a 59 apache that he sold and bought back. Not sure when exactly but it was in the day. Now i have the truck. Sent from my LGMS631 using H.A.M.B. mobile app
I wish I could buy back my first car, which I sold in 1982 for 1,600.00. It wasn't Cherry, it was a driver. Low buck drive way paint job, rusty chrome wheels, stock 327, 4gc, 4 speed. If it's still around, it's most likely Cherried out and the buy back cost would 60 to 80 thou. Man, talk about regrets
Had a chance to buy my '35 Slantback for less money than I sold it for. It had some nice upgrades done to it. I wasn't in a position to buy it and honestly, I really didn't want it back. I had moved on! No, wish I could find and buy back my ol' run of the mill '59 Ranchero!
I sold my Oldsmobile station wagon 12 years ago and then found her just sitting in a garage for the last 10 years about an hour and a half from me. I just had to have her back{I am a station wagon guy}I bought here back and after about 2 months I had her road ready again. I am going to take the dark blue I painted on her off after the Rod Run here in Pigeon Forge this weekend and go back to the original lighter blue.Bruce.
I could have bought back my first car a 1927 T Touring I sold in 1972, turns out the guy I sold it to never did a thing to it. It turned up on eBay guy died and a guy bought it and parted it out. Went to look at it but it was best to pass and keep working on the current projects. a HAMB member did buy the body and had it racing at TROG in 2015. Bob
