I need Belts in my '65 F100, apparently it never had any from the factory. Would Rear Belts out of a Car work? Or do I need to find Front Lap Belts for the extra length on the female part?

I don't have anything to mount a Shoulder belt to because that area is covered by the Cardboard roof liner with nothing under it. I looked on ebay and they have hundreds of Belts out of all kinds of vehicles, and the Rear Belts out of Imports look to be the simplest.

I wouldn't think rear belts on an import would be long enough for a truck.

What about pre lap belt GM front belt setups? That stuff is everywhere.

Surplus Center 1-800-488-3407 in NE has black 2" belt 90" long with push****on release for $8.99. I got 3 pc belts for that a while back.

I've heard that washing weakens them...
Might be a fool's tale but just in case it's true, don't buy used ones that are dirty.

    Sean --

Thanks for the link -- I just called them and ordered a set of belts for my 54 Chevy pickup. Good price!

    later,
    Steve.

  10. In Australia, it's illegal to fit USED belts. And I think it may even be illegal to sell used belts...???

Personally, I'd wanna fit rectractable shoulder belts but you say that's out of the question.....so I'd go with something like this (wish we could get them here, since we're stuck with the black plastic **** [IMG]):

I got a 3-point "manual" belt from JC Whitney. It's quite sturdy and adjusts easily enough, but what worries me is is that the lift-latch type design, which looks a LOT better, is WAY easier to disengage. Which isn't a good thing. If I lift the latch a tiny bit it unbuckles. Plus it's trickier to get it buckled than the usual push-****on type. Someone oughta make latch housings for the newer type of belts that don't look like they're out of a 1985 Chevy.

Junkyards around here will not sell you used seabelts. If the seatbelt was ever used in an accident, it has been compromised and is not safe (why are most cars in junkyards? accidents?). Don't buy used.

I installed lap belts like the ones Peddro posted in my Falcon.
