Some of you might know I was looking for a buyer for the 304" stroker Flathead in my 34 Coupe for a while.Yesterday a certain HAMB member from Riverside,Ca came up and bought it for his Dad's old 33 Ford project that was originally a Hot Rod in 1961.The engine is coming out today. In its place will be a Hot little 1961 Cadillac 390 OHV.I purchased the engine from our very own "Royalshifter" and having Timmy McMaster "mctim64" do all the machine work and assembly. The 390 was a runner when it was pulled, came with Chrome Valve Covers, pulleys, valley cover and header flanges. When Tim tore down the engine we couldnt believe how nice it was inside,Standard bore. The engine will get new rings, bearings, the cylinder heads will get Chevy 1.94/1.60 Valves.A nice Hot Cam from Nielson Cams in Utah 280 Adv Duration,.465" Lift,109 LSA.A Cragar 4x2 Intake from Mark Moriarity in Minnesota.New Hildebrant Valve Covers,Rotofaze distributor and more chrome goodies.Running the T5 transmission thats in the car already using a Bitchin one piece Bellhousing/Adapter from Squeak Bell in Bakersfield,Ca.Going to have my friend Kevin Gallagher from Gallaghers Oil Farm in Napa,Ca build me some custom headers that I will have chromed as well of course.I think this Caddy should get the 32" Tall M/T Cheater Slicks to spin a little. Way awesome! What are you going to do down in the oil filter area? I think the stock filter assembly may get in the way of the frame?

Always dug your coupe but now this Caddy is going to make it king. Can't wait to see it all done up.

Painting the engine block red like the flathead?

Love your choice. 390's a good number for Cad...
Where in the world did you find a Jackson RotoFaze??? (Thought the one I gave VonFranco was the last one!)

I removed 304, 296, and one 316" flattie for OHVs, always went back for that 'one more time' flathead. (so I understand)

I had some Cad mills, always liked when someone asked, "What're ya runnin'?"
I just said, "CADILLAC"... It was in my '40 Coupe.

Had a 331 in a '56 Ford crown Vic., dual range Hydro & 3.90 rear. Rapid out of the hole, had the nicest tone...(20" glass packs)

The Cad will run the stock oil filter, painting the Caddy motor the Body color, the Roto-Faze is brand new, Joe Panek is running the company and makes new ones.It will have a Crab Cap on it. http://roto-faze.com/ I just ordered it today in fact.

Now that is a most worthy engine to replace the flattie. The part's you are adding make it an even better endeavor.

That engine went to the right place. I was surprised when Mark told me that he had sold it (dont worry people he has plenty of other projects to keep us all entertained). I've been hearing for quite a while about some plans he had for it but you just cant build them all.
