Here's my old 53 331 I did in the late 90's.Was .125" over to 354 CID, 390 Heads, Chevy Valves, I wish I could find another Weiand WCA 408 Intake like this one.I think I paid $100 for it in the 90s..Caddy shit was dirt cheap because no one wanted it or knew what it was.[IMG]

Exactly! I had to be stubborn and do up a Flathead.I had to find out for myself the hard way.I took about a $4000 loss on the Flathead. When people would ask if the 304" Flatty ran good, I would reply, it ran good..for a Flathead. The Power Ban was 2900-3400 RPM and thats about all it had before power fell off quickly.Just didnt get my heart pumping, especially after having some pretty fast cars over the years.I can totally understand now why guys pulled their Flatheads for OHV's.

  15. :cool:And it has no problem blowing off the 31" x 11" radials...

I picked up a set of Edelbrock v/c's for a Cad not too long ago...love 'em!

I got those Valve Covers years ago from Squeak Bell in Bakersfield for $75! He also built the headers for like $150 a set back then.I got a NOS Scheifer ALum Flywheel from Billy Belmont for like $150 or something. It had adjustable rockers I had made from Rocker Arm Specialist in Anderson,Ca. Chris Nielson Camshaft except a wider LSA.Jahns made the pistons and that was a nightmare, they screwed up the first set they sent me and had to remake me another set.

On Monday I took a long drive down to Bakersfield,Ca to Squeak Bell's Awesome Shop to pick up my Transmission Bellhousing/adapter and flywheel and dropped by Tim's house to pick up parts to be chromed and leave him my Camshaft. Also my Cragar 4x2 Intake came from Mark Moriarity, he also made me a linkage "Dog Bone" for the intake for no extra charge! Thanks Mark! Tim has all the Valves in the heads and they are ready to go! been a productive week.First pic is Squeak Bell's shop where Caddy engines and speed equipment for them litter the shop [IMG]

  27. Lookin good, Marcus. You'll love that new "kick in the pants" the caddy'll give you. I have nothing against flatheads but I'll be running a 370 Pontiac in my 34 five window, thank you.

Awesome! Yeah I did a Caddy in the 90's but it was a 331 punched out to 354 in a 60 GMC and that pushed that big truck pretty good.I cant wait to see what this 390 does in my 34.

    Really Nice!
Did they have to put different valve seats in to use the Chevy Valves?
Or did you just want hardend seats installed?

I believe Tim was just installing hardened seats anyways.
