History bye bye palace of poison

a lot of st. louis-area folks probably remember the south county drive in known as the "palace of poison" on lemay ferry. once a popular hangout, it later was a burger joint, a liquor store and a bar and grille. it's gone now. the wrecking ball did a number on it!

unfortunately, not from me--i hung out somewhere else. hoped maybe some of the old cruisers might chime in!

WOW !! Looks like a place out of a Porky's movie !! Pretty interesting choice of a name......gotta' be a great back story there.

I would have liked my ex wife to have eaten there for sure !!! I may have even bought her a gift card.....for refills.

 

Interestingly enough they had Death Certificates. HRP

If you look at the date it was in the early 60's and implemented in 1957 by a gentleman that thought outside the box when you needed a gimmick to grab the publics attention,it worked then but I'm sure it wouldn't pass muster in today's politically correct round peg in round hole society. HRP

 

Damn, that is too cool. Too bad it finally succumbed to it's own poison..................
