Does anyone know if the Lokar cable shifter will work with a 1984 C-6 and the column automatic gear selector? Currently I have smoothed a divot into the header that was causing a problem with shifting into the drive gears, but now the rod is hitting the collector and will be too short if I try to bend it. I don't want to go to the floor shifter because I really like the column shift. If you can help out I would greatly appreicate the efforts.

Thats my main problem, I only saw the rod type too. I am unable to use a rod due to the collector being in the way. I hope there is another way to do this without having to fabricate something myself. I really just want to get the car back on the road at this point. Its been almost a year and I may be getting orders soon too.

Looks like Ididit makes one for the C6... looks like the protruding arm is stationary and the horseshoe bracket rotate around the column to pull the cable and shift. So as long as you have enough space between the column and header to fit the width of the horseshoe bracket I think would work well. Might try calling Ididit with your dimensions and see if they can confirm it will work.
