So I'm collecting parts to bag the rear of my '59 bel air, got most of 'em (short a tank and air lines), and i'm anxious to get it done...

I don't want to get everything installed without notching the rear, and then decide when it's done that it's not low enough...

Anyone have a '59 or '60 setup either way?

PS - I have read the two piece drive line/carrier bearing threads that kinda relate to this too... way helfpful...

    Thanks in advance,

Can you cut & add a slider in the second half of the drive shaft? That is what we did on our 58 impala.

Yup, gonna go with the telescoping rear shaft set up that was covered in some earlier posts...

Just was wondering about what people did to get it low, be it some of the bigger, taller notches available from various distrubutors, or cutting a C in the frame and welding in some round stock cut to fit the removed portion of the frame...

dude these frames are the same through about 64, you should check with the lowrider crowd, I really don't thin you have to notch the frame unless you want to lay frame. My bro in law has worked on many lowrider "loco_louie" here on the hamb. depending on your wheel setup you might not need to notch it.
