Hi everyone, I was curious if anyone knew the easiest way to get the trans pan of a 1974 C10 with a TH350 transmission. Two of the bolts are covered by the trans crossmember and that makes them basically totally inaccessible, it looks like I'll have to unbolt the trans from the crossmemeber and jack up the trans slightly. Was trying to avoid that but I will if I have to, thanks.

The trans mount probably needs replacing anyway. They are real close anyway, but a collapsed mount makes it worse.

you nailed it.either move the trans crossmember, or jack up the ******. no real trick to make it easier, although you could remove and trim the crossmember for the next time

  6. I used to maintain a fleet of these things and was always able to get those 2 bolts with a 1/4" drive wiggler socket.

Like in the previous post use a 1/4 drive wobble and the 1/2 inch socket and they will come out. It is close but it can be done

probably the easiest thing to do is take out the two bolts that hold the mount to the crossmember, and jack up the transmission a ways...
