A C2AE is a 292cu inch, and a good one to use and or rebuild.
One question to confirm is the rotation of the engine, as some marine engines rotate in the opposite direction.
Marine engines are generally clean, but can also be rusty in the not-so-usual places or worse, busted from freezing. If you are going to change out to a new cam and lifters when you rebuild, you can still use the main engine if it is reverse rotation ,you will just have to change out a bunch of stuff. BUT, you would probably want to change out to new stuff anyway to some degree.
C2AE is what I have but fitted with a 312 crankshaft makes it a stoker. Lots of grunt with the right cam and the usual fun power adders. 750 seems a bit high, but I would have to see it run really well to get comfy with that price.

Do you live anywhere that the engine might have been used in salt water? If so there could be water jacket corrosion that may be severe.

Yah, I forgot to say if it has been used in salt water it's just better to pass on it.

Are 292s hard to find in your area?

Salt water damage can continue long after use. I knocked the loose chunks out and de-rusted with vinegar and a battery charger, I think I threw some Coca Cola in too. Some holes into cylinder so block is junk. IMG_0540.JPG IMG_0546.JPG IMG_0548.JPG IMG_0556.JPG
