COE C30 Rear Hubs

Discussion in 'Off Topic Hot Rods & Customs' started by willysbill, Oct 30, 2013.

  1. Hi Guys
The rear Hubs on my C30 Rear End had the threads almost stripped out of them, so I tapped them to the next size up which I think from memory was 10mm or 12mm I still think they are on borrowed time
My question is, have any of you run across this problem and what have you done about it.
    Bought new hubs or What
Are new hubs available and if so where from

    Thanks Bill

  2. I don't know which holes you are talking about, but are thread inserts (heli-coils etc) a possibility?

Time to junk the truck....I'll give you 10 bucks for it...HA!!!!!

Are you talking about the bolts that hold the axles in?

  4. KS, I hadn't thought about those holes. If it is drill and tap deeper and use longer bolts? Check to make sure you have enough meat deeper in the casting.

  5. Hi Guys
The freight would kill you !!!
Yes it is the bolts that hold the Axles in and yes I have tapped them to the next bigger size, I just thought that it would be better to use better hubs but not available over here as far as I know.
