So I decided to keep orig rearend I had questions about in previous thread. Now am using Speedway output yoke for a c4 trans to a conversion ujoint to the original driveshaft. My question is how far out from all the way in of the ******(not sure of correct terminology) should the shaft be. I will be measuring the length with car on jack stands, im ***uming I will have to alter the length of the shaft. the slip yoke measures 6.5 in from center of ujoint cap to end of shaft. Im ***uming the shaft will be compressed from being elevated, so is there some rule of thumb in reaching this magical length

Put the jack stands under the rear axle so the car weight is on the springs. That should duplicate normal driving position. Push the trans slip yoke in all the way...then pull it out about an inch. That should be sufficient for normal movement.
