Getting ready to purchase a set of outside mirrors for my 38 Ford cab. Because the 38 cab does not have any rear side window behind the front door, seeing down the passenger side is next to impossible. I need some suggestions on what mirror you have installed on your convertible or panel that allows you to be able to see down the passenger side of your convertible or panel delivery. Have been considering the so called 4 inch round fatties I have seen advertised with a set of 5 1/2 inch arms, either the so called noodle or curved. All suggestions and comments appreciated. Please don't say - put the top down.
need the convex head for the right side for best view. Had the large ones you are talking about on my cabriolet and still needed the expanded view to see.
similar problem on my '33 fiver... the top hinge blocked my view.... I bent the eye end of a ford brake ROD... welded it to a small oval shaped flat plate... drilled for and tapped 10-32 into the shaft of the ROD... drilled a similar hole beside it.... used a countersunk head screw, ran it into the shaft with a thin headed screw and nut through the other hole, both through the upper door edge... make it stick out as far as you want... nickel plated mine at work... but black arm and chrome head would look great... raw material......
