Not really. I designed and made these over the last couple of weeks. It took me a long time but I think they came out pretty good. Check 'em out and let me know what you think.

BTW, that's not fake patina, it's accelerated patina.

Wow! Those are great. Looks like you put much more artistic effort into them than just copying some existing emblems. I take it you will be selling these at some point?

Thanks! I appreciate it! Those are my own design except for the Studebaker and the Ford one. The Ford is just a copy of a very early Ford logo. I didn't start out with the idea of selling them but depending on the reaction, why not? Maybe I can offset some of the costs for my project.

I suggest that you send me the Packard one. I'll tell everyone where I got it, and what a great guy you really are!

You'll be rich in no time!!!

Ahh...there you are! I was waiting for someone to come and piss on my cornflakes and you showed up!

You got a point with the Ford one. Though being almost 100 years old I'm not sure that design is still under copyright but it's very possible. I don't think any other trademarks or copyrights have been violated.

You could just make a "Fool" one then like the old "Fool" caps using the same Ford font.

Although, I think you'd have to make a certain amount of money before a cease and desist or any type of law matter came into plat, and I don't think you'd be hitting those numbers. It's not much different than a guy that makes leather key fobs with a brand name on them.

  16. Look great/cool designs. Any side view shots? What material(s) used....looks like br***.

I liked them a lot. If you start to see some, I'd buy a few. The Ford one looked really cool, but so did the rest of them.

That meant to say, if you start to sell some, I'd a buy a few.

I'll try to post some side shots soon. I basically used some NOS tractor shift knobs I had and machined them. Yes, the insert is made of br***. If there is any interest I'll cast my own knobs. I have some designs in mind that I think could be cool.

I too would stand in line for 2 of them. Let us know if you decide to sell them or need people to r&d your designs to see how the hold up under normal and sometimes adnormal conditions

I could be wrong, but I had heard somewhere that soaking something (metal) in cider vinegar gave a nice patina.
