    Hi there!

I have a 1941 Cadillac and would like to replace the flathead 346 with a 1949
    331. Does it fit directly on the stock manual 3-speed gearbox?
    Anyone here done this?

    THANKS!

Yes, as long as you've got an OHV standard shift bell housing.

I don't have that. Is that very hard to get? Will the rest fit right on?

You'll also need an OHV Cadillac standard flywheel. They're out there, but not always easy to pay for.

the 49-54 Cadillac standard bellhousings and flywheels are available, but expect to pay more than they are worth. I considered myself lucky to get a bellhousing for $450.00.
