Hi guys, Did a quick search and found some good info but not all. I just ran a compression check in my caddy 390 and found all cyliders to be between 130-150psi. I did the test ice cold (havent ran car for a few weeks). Do these numbers change much when hot (I would guess they would get higher as engine warmed up.

PLease give any thoughts on the test and results. Thanks! Craig

I've always heard, and the book says, "bring engine to normal operating temperature" for the compression test. Butch/56sedandelivery.

X2..........but, in any case. it's the difference between cylinders that is the more useful info than merely being a 'high' number. Normal variation shouldn't exceed about 15 psi from high to low.
