It seems that my caddy 390 has venting issues at higher load situations. It used to blow some oil out of the breather, put a new breather on (NOS that fits real snug) now it seems to be forcing some oil out of places it shouldnt (Under load). This is ending up on my exhaust and other places.

It has a PCV system that runs from the manifold by distributer to the carb base. Just put a new valve in. Im considering puting a hole in the base of the oil filler tube and running a hose to the air cleaner to create suction at higher load situations. Any other ideas I may not have thought of?

Seems to be a common problem with early Caddy engines, I have a '62 390 that does the same.
Too much crankcase pressure due to 'blowby', Don't know if there is any cure other than a new set of rings.

  3. some one just posted about a Cad only PCV Valve that that solved his problems. I only know what I read lol

So far what ive tried that seems to have worked the best is 1/2" hose from valley cover to air cleaner. I used the stock pcv fitting, replaced the o-ring, rotated it so the hose exits past the distributer then up tio the air filter base. Im now considering puting a bung on the oil fill tube and going to the PCV valve with that. Any other caddy guys have any feedback or what your setup is?
