Would anyone know who supplies Br*** Core plugs to suit a 58 caddie block. They run the dish type plugs. When googled for them only suppliers of later model Cup style plugs came up. I have a zinc set but would prefer to have Br*** if possible. Cheers
Thanks for the lead but it's abit far to compare from here. They have sizes stamped on them,I need 10@ 1- 31/64" and 1@ 1-47/64". These size ones plug the water galleries, the oil plugs I am happy with zinc ones. They seem oddball sizes to me but thats what is stamped on them.
Yes they are an odd size. Most stores don't carry singles let alone br*** singles. Just went through this with Marcus' 390.
Thanksdamagedduck and isettajohn ,yes they Dorman, have that size but they don't sell to the public, and I tried Napa and they won't post to Australia! mctim64,I was going to ask you as I have been following Marcus' build but I didn't want to bother you without trying first. What did you end up doing for the 390? I just got my parts back from the m/c shop and am starting on the 365.
I bought a steel set from Rock auto, I like this style in steel better than br***. I've seen br*** concave plugs pop out, steel seems to set better. As long as you keep up on your coolant they will last just as long.
Even in the desolate mountains of Colorado, we have a NAPA store and the can probably get the plugs you need . What sizes and how many do you need ? I will be happy to get them and send them to you .
Just get the dorman numbers and see if any of the parts stores online will ship to you. Hey try dmarv on here he owns a parts store. www.exeterautosupply.com
OK . I can get the 1-31/64 in br*** in about 7-8 days--- 10 of them run about 25.00 $ The 1-47/64 is only available in steel. I will be happy to have them ordered and then ship them to you , Let me know. Dave
Thanks very much for your input and offers guys. I didn't really put the coolant/inhibitor into the picture and as said the steel will last as long as it's kept up with. And yes,the disc style plugs would definitly be stronger in steel. Thinking about it maybe this is why Cad used steel rather than br*** in this application and style. Again, thanks for the input. Chris
