Technical Cadillac 390 power loss when in gear

    Ah, I see.
    It was manifesting it self as pinging under mid acceleration and all the mechanical advance coming in “all at once” and under light acceleration. Monitored with a dial back timing light, a standard timing light and by ear.

    Hey, Mark...........relax.... there's an old saying; "Fix what you know is fucked up and it just might fix the things that you DON'T know is fucked up". So why be belligerent about the fact that El found a flaw, corrected it, and it MAY have impacted the way the engine produces power. There have been numerous occasions in my 74 years when I saw that something wasn't right, fixed it, and something else improved. Just live with it.....
