No worries man Yea, I get your point and see where you are coming from. Still, sometimes in the heat of the search we all get lazy sometimes. I'm sure I've done it more than once myself. I love my big Caddy. On a recent road trip I got 18 MPG. It helps that I'm running 2.5:1 rear gears....LOL Hopefully the new guy will give us some details about what he's toying with. Bobby
Damn, a guy gives a FNG a bit of razzing and you guys go postal about it. The guy like too many others dug up a years dead Hamb thread to ask a question that if he actually thought a bit he could answer himself (simply put the oil capacity of an engine with a swapped oil pan is going to match the capacity listed for the donor engine). We have threads that have run for years that are active all the time and many of us have posted on them time and time again. Some are build theads and some are just fun threads like the Gasser thread. They never actually die and go dormant. This thread had been dead since Nov 7 2009. One of if not the longest dead thread ever dug up out of Google. The bad part of this is those who only read part of the first post, then toss out an answer that in come cases they actually gave the answer to on the first page of the thread 14 years ago. Most of us would be lying if we said we haven't answered the original poster's question only to scroll though the thread and figure out that it was a number of years old and quite possibly we had answered it before. Then if you look at the OP's profile page you see that he hasn't been seen on the Hamb at all since June 17, 2010.
Alright, alright, lets let this drop. We all know how hard the written word is to interpret. Too many times what was supposed to be some good natured ribbing can get taken the wrong way. I was probably a bit hasty in my reply Mr48chev and should have thought it through a little better before taking offense. So, I propose we all sooth our ruptured ovaries (OK, this is supposed to be light-hearted....LOL) and get back to playing with cars. Bobby
I have s 73 500 caddy that I was going to put in a 39 Lasalle convertible coupe. I was going to use a bop bellhousing and a Ford top loader but I did a Model T with a hemi instead . Any way I sold the LaSalle but I still have the engine and brand new standard flywheel. The engine I was told to be 514 inches .I think that's a 30 thou overbore. A thousand Canadian bucks or swap for a good working RCA 45 car record player.
