a friend of my built this cadillac in austria ... By daddyohs at 2011-09-01 By daddyohs at 2011-09-01 By daddyohs at 2011-09-01
Daddyohs, Your buddy's Caddy is amazing. Do you have any more info, build photos, what he started with, etc.???????? Thanks! dreamer
Here are a 60 Coupe De Ville i have a few years ago. I painted it in orange pearl whid flake on the roof. Shaved doorhandels and 57 hubcaps. Now i own this 62 convertible and maybe i put some airbags on it and paint it watsonstyle.
This chopped 60 coupe from New Mexico was at our Run in October ..... and it won a Top Ten trophy .....
On a recent trip to Kingman, AZ, I spotted this Cad in a showroom across the street from the Power House and took the following pictures through the windows. Anyone know anything about it? Looks like it could be a cool custom.
I wonder if it has been sectioned. It looked really low but the place was locked up so I couldn't get inside to take a closer look. Someone must know who built it or where it was built.
I agree - looks like an El Dorado too, waste of a RARE Cadillac. Reminds me of 'Chezoom' Boyd built back in the 80's.
Yep...been sectioned, a lot. That's a '56 Cad front clip/grille...and a '57 Cad back end/fins/taillights/bumper...however it could be an Eldorado body...there were a few '56's built with that rearend...if so, it is a semi-rare body style. The top/windshield appears to be about a '65/'66 Chevy to me. Agreed, the top doesn't help the look of the car any, but ma-ann, there's a ton of work in that Caddy...!!! R-
Hey Bullet, I don't know if that 58(?) was sectioned (maybe 2" under the tailight line) but the top looks like its off a late 60's impala. The black 60 belongs to my neighbor. It was built right in your backyard at SicChops. Infact the trunk wasn't finished out yet at the October run. He had it at the Scottsdale Goodguys last month and got a top ten also. Very well built car. He's got a newer 570hp supercharged caddy mill in it.
My first thought when I spotted the bare metal Cad in Kingman was that it had a 65 Impala roof on it. I talked to the owner and builder of the black 60 at the show and was invited to see their shop. When I first saw the car on Thursday night at the mall, I didn't notice that it had been chopped. IMHO, it was just right. I think he said they only removed 1-1/2" and the interior was also done by a local shop. The same owner won a cl*** trophy at last year's show with this car .....
Well, I'm back in the Cadillac family now, been jonesing for one for a while. This '55 came out of Texas so it's not terribly rotten, and it's motorvated by Cadillac power - even though it's a 'newer' 472/400 combo. Can't wait to get started on it, gotta finish my '33 Plymouth coupe first. It will be for sale as soon as I can get it painted and back together.
Sorry for the confusion, the PLYMOUTH will be gone as soon as I can get it painted and back together. Thanks Hoboy - probably just a mild custom - just a nice comfortable cruiser. First thing is going thru it and making everything work as it should, but mechanically it seems very tight. Can't wait to get started on it. Plenty of inspiration on this thread...
I was watching this one on E-bay.... Looks like it's going to a good home... I'm hoping some day another 55 will come my way.
