Hello, So Cal has a lot of cool cruisers. Here is one of the cool cruisers that has been around for awhile, that also travels all over So Cal. It would be a pleasure to ride around in that black Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Dave Lindsay saw in in July of 2018. My wife, granddaughter, and I saw it on April 28, 2019 in Central Orange County. It was part of a display of 1950s-60s cars to showcase older historic homes that are original, but have been upgraded. (as well as, older cars that are historic and have been upgraded... there are some similarities, here...) It is well done and jumps right out of 1957 to fit in with the surrounding neighborhood. Jnaki My dad had a new 1957 Buick Roadmaster and our family doctor that lived down the street had this big black Cadillac sedan. HMMM, another theme going on here. While in high school, my knee needed some drastic work. The family doctor performed the procedure in his office that was connected to his giant home. After the procedure, I was unable to ride my bicycle home. So, he gave me a ride home with his huge Cadillac. I would have enjoyed it a lot more, but that procedure was a little painful. (Our doctor was not the kind to give out pain shots or pills, but he did give me a shot of whiskey to ease the procedure.) Now that I think about that time period, it was 1960 "cruising in the neighborhood" in a rather stylish car. It was not one that I would have normally been cruising in, anywhere. The 1958 Impala vs. this big Cadillac? There was no contest for this teenager at the time. But, the short drive back up the street to our house was very nice.
I have had this 63 coupe de ville for almost 25 years.it has a built up 350 and a 400 transmission. The side pipes are functional and I took all the disc brake set up out of a 69 Cadillac and put it in this car and it was a very easy swap and really improved braking.
