ok.. now to sound like a complete idiot... which I guess I am, what's the plus of running a roller timing chain, as apposed to stock? I guess what I'm asking is.. what's a roller timing chain?

I'm workin on getting the timing set right, distributor put in properly, etc, on my new (just purchased a 61 390) engine. I've got parts from my original 60 390 that I'm sure are good, that I'm gonna sell the extra's from, but what sorta stuff should I look for. Should I change the timing set from my 60 over to my newer 61 block? I know that timing set is only 3 years old, where as the set on my 61 is probably original. Any advice greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks to the caddy gurus, like Cadillac Kid, Jimmy Shine, etc, who love these old 390's as much as I do, but know a BOATLOAD more than I do.

    Peace
    Chris

I love the tech in this thread. Is that the motor that Skratch used in his recent model A build? I would like to see more about the extra exhaust pipe comming from over the valve cover and out.
