Truck Stop Pickle...ha! Looks awesome, bro...you already know. Oh, so this is where all the cragar wire fans have been hiding, huh?
Nice! Lemon-lime! wheels really make it, need to get some wires for my 62! Looking forward to seeing it back together!
The wires kinda date the car. Those wires were first made and sold by Greg Weld of WELD WHEELS in the mid 70's under the name "Star Wires". Not before. He sold them to Cragar and they made them through the 90's. I agree they look great on the car but as I said date it. Sorry.
I appreciate the history. A period car is not what I'm after. I just build my cars with the parts and styles that I like and hope others dig it too. I have always been into old school lowriders and customs so this is my interpretation of the two
I think skinny whites and the gloss paint would look good too but at this time I'm its wide whites and flat paint
Hey man I looked through some of your other posts about the car but didnt see anything about it being bagged. Is it? Or static dropped? Or am I just really thrown off with the switch from the tall 15in to the shorter 14in wheel and tire combo?
I always liked those wheels on the right car. You have one of the "right cars" IMO. That said, if it were mine, those tiny bits of clear coat you call rain drops would cover the car more evenly. Cool car!
Nice fade, and dig the wires and whites, but Cadillacs are Luxury cars, and I think the flat paint cheapens the car ... Gloss is Boss ! Just my opinion... which means nothing
Wrazed, lookin good. I like the way you seem to be open to suggestions and learning from history. Someone else beat me to it, but I was going to not only suggest narrow whites, but also explain why. New cars generally came from the factory with 4" widewhites through 1960, then in the 1961 model year they all switched to the narrow white (separated from the rim with black) style. So....'61 Cad...narrows! Wides look too "fifties". As far as shiny or gloss, I'd need to see it in person to give an opinion. I'm still waiting to see an example of both on the same car with the same color (Say, maybe shiny scallops over flat background for instance). Just to be different.
