Well I'm getting adjusted to the new HAMB and I'm a lit tle lost so a while ago there is a fellow that was compiling a book about quickchange rear ends. I found this CAE quick change case at an auction and thought that he might like a picture of it as it is quite interesting but I don't know how to find the old post. So I figure he might find me. Its neat because it uses early Ford passenger car tubes and a 3/4 ton truck ring gear.
Dick,Is this what you are searching for? HRP http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...ok-in-the-beginning.772084/page-3#post-887055
Dick, did you by any chance pick that quickchange up at the Cunningham auction in Nebraska last weekend ?
Now, that's interesting. The 'CAE' logo doesn't look like anything I've seen before. Got anymore info or pics?
OK gearheadsQCE, PM me your email and I will send you some pictures. Now the hard part is figure out how to edit the post to remove the picture in the text.
Dick, I have never seen that logo on any of the CAE parts have owned. I can't recall seeing that housing previously. Looks like a great find. I don't understand how the 3/4 ton ring gear and passenger car housings work together in this case. I do see the reduction in size but it certainly is something worth researching. I will look at my old catalogs. Lynn
