So I go to Axles hotrod and Rockabilly show sat. night, and run into one of my friends, who asks me if I would be interested in shooting a calendar with my Merc. Of course I said yes. So I show up Sunday,in Orange and there is a bitchin Caddy on the lawn of this old 40's style house. A photographer and his assistant come out and start shooting this cute little Betty next to the Caddy. When there done,he says your next. So we go over by the RR tracks, and he says how about over there next to this old wood building. So being the over-zeolous guy that I am,I say sure! Well driving in was no problem. I park, take some of my own shots, then try to back out. NO WAY!!!I get high-sided on my rearend. GREAT! So we start digging my car out. An hour and a half later,i'm out FUCK!!! After I get home I notice oil flowing into the gutter,in front of my house. TERRIFIC, now what? I must have cracked my oilpan on the gravel, next to the tracks. Just another day in the life of Bad Bob. Just once, can't I have a good time WITHOUT drama! Oh well, makes for a better story to tell my grandkids someday right. YES,I have pic's.
Here you go! 1-Bitchin Caddy/Hot Betty 2-location next to the tracks 3-Hot Betty with my Merc 4-Merc stuck in the gravel 5-another look I'll save the oiled down gutter photo for myself.
I'd like to post some more pic's,but I promised my friend I would only show a couple. He doesn't want to ruin the chances of the calendar. Trust me,there's some juicy ones!!!
That's okay,it was worth it. It's just a car. New oilpan isn't that big of a deal. You need to move to California, where the babes wear less clothes, yearround!
I had a '57 Chevy like that once...hated me...broke every time I took it anywhere...cost me plenty...finally got rid of it...my other '57's were happy then. BTW, nice shots... R-
I don't know how widespread the availability will be or where they will be sold, but if anybody wants one,i'll find out and get them for you guys. He's not even done shooting it yet!
It's actually been pretty reliable lately. That Merc's not going anywhere. It's all mine til i'm done breathin!
Better save a copy of that calender for me. Dont even go there til you've had a 2 wheel tow dolly break on you with a 87 fullsize Chevy truck on it and go into a gas station, with a sherrif sitting in the parking lot. That was fun. Luckily it hit the lollipop sign before the pumps.
Sorry guys,I was asked to delete the other pic. I'll have to save the others til after the calendar comes out.
Is it one of those "I pumped, she pumped, I pumped and then got out to fix the tire" things? Sweet all the way around. I missed the Caddy and the house and the Merc and the building, though...
I can't believe he actually let you take pictures during the actual shoot (cost of the model, etc)... I think the assistant would make a good model for the car (work shirt, etc...)
Let us know more about that calendar. Based on the choice of cars, locations, and gals, looks like a winner.
Nice Pics Bob. I want a calendar for the garage so let me know once you do. Bummer on the oil pan situation, I have a dent on mine from a similar railroad track incident here locally just lucky it's not leaking.
As soon as I get the when, where, and how much,i'll let everybody know who wants one. Thanks about the car. I'm taking my time finishing it up. I don't want to settle for 2nd choice.I really want to do things right.
excuse me, but is that Bad Luck Bob! What a bummer Bro. Remember, no good deed goes unpunished! Life can be tough sometimes, wish I was there to help with the repair. You merc. is a killer ass ride. Hope to see the calendar.Keep the faith. Sololobo
It seems like that sometimes. Like I said before,i'll take bad luck with a Merc over good luck with a Honda, anytime!
you need to carry some plywood in the trunk if your going to go off roading. you need an oil pan for a sbc i got a few.......maybe add a skid plate .
Melinda's my buddy. I changed my avatar, just to promote the calendar. I'm sure she would understand. I'd NEVER ditch Melinda!
