dang! <table class="weatherBox" border="0"><tbody><tr><td class="weatherHead">Weather:</td><td align="center" width="10"></td><td class="weatherContent">PASADENA, CA High: 55ºF |</td></tr></tbody></table>very unusual for that to be our "high". I know we can't complain compared to lots of what HAMBers are dealing with, but I am going to have to wear a flannel shirt. Blue skies, though...post card photo weather. I bought a coat in 1980. It's in a closet somewhere. I wore it a couple of years ago, as I remember.
17 below in Denver yesterday morn...19 here today at 9:30 AM...59" inches of snow in four hours yesterday in southern ColoRODo...you guys in Cali have it so tuff...!!! R-
The shop is a toasty 65 deg. F, 80 deg. warmer than outside right now. But Hey, the sun is out and the wind chill is only -25 deg. F, so it could be worse.
It was in the 40's last night.. BrrrRrRrrr freaking cold! but I know this is nothing compared to when I fly to Toronto next week for holidays... that's what I call stupid cold.
My truck is in a couple dozen pieces, in bay #2. There is a reason why the cold is more of an issue for us here. Since this weather is not "the norm" our houses and buildings are not built for it. There are a huge number here that were built without any insulation whatsoever, single pane Edwardian-era windows and heating systems designed for the average weather. There is simply no way to get, or keep them warm. At my girlfriend's place, with the heater on full-blast, it never made it over 52F overnight. Not deadly, but not comfortable, either. My shop, a monolithic concrete structure, cools off quickly, and warms up slowly. It is actually now 11 degrees warmer outside than it is inside the building. It is too large to viably attempt to heat anything but the office.
Got up this morning to take my son to school and my yard was all frosted over. I like it. I would rather be cold than hot any day of the week. It's cheaper to run the heat than it is the A/C.
only people that need to complain is from the mid east to east coast we always have the shit weather ...all day was freezing cold ..33 all day wind was crazy ....and i still got alot of stuff done on my 56 , brake lines, fuel lines, heater hoses, tomorrow more unless it rains or snows..aint no thing 2 pairs of pants.3 shirts .1 hoody,2 pair of socks.and a nice thick hat ,,,ya ready for anything..lol i felt like the kid from christmas story....lmao OH AND NO GARAGE...

10 below zero this morning and got up to +8 with no wind.... so it was a good day!! I keep my cars in the shop, about 100' from the house, and with a flip of a switch it turns to spring in about 15 mins.
Mine is in the shop covered up. But it will come out after Christmas for my annual Christmas/New Year run. I always drive her during the holidays...
if they want crazy weather, they should come to kansas. one day 100 degrees, the next 65 for the high. one week was 70s, the next was in the 40s. what they're goin thru, i'd take it over here. had a low of 3 degrees. that was cold, especially with a wind chill of -10!!! don't think we hit 30 today. if the weather was like that here, i'd be cruisin with the windows down!!
that's how i rolled when i had the spider. of course the top being an absolute piece of shit didn't help much either.
My '51 in Los Angeles is under a cheapie car cover that does a better job of keeping out the weather in my no-door-glass car than you would expect. I'm in columbus Ohio at the moment and it was around 15 degrees in the Dayton area, where I was going to the air force museum. Top Tip: cold weather, and this time of year, is an excellent time to go there, the place was a ghost town, it was great. Except when I had to walk back to the car in my light jacket and the howling wind. Like razors at your face. Brrr!
It's about 5 here in colorado with a foot of snow on the ground, and my '64 bel air is hiding its summer tires in the garage.
