California in January: what to do? where to go?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Lowtech, Dec 5, 2008.

  1. Take a drive out to Palm Springs for architecture........then onto Death Valley; awesomely stark, great light in January! Joshua Tree is another great park to visit in January, and then onto Amboy and Historic Route 66 for a photo shoot in front Route 66 Roys; http://www.rt66roys.com/

  2. 1. Ask your girlfriend what she would like to see or do (if you want to do it again). Let us know the answer
    2. Check the road conditions in the National Parks. They are beautiful in winter if you can get in.
    3. If you (or your girlfriend) like well restored, high dollar (as in Duisenberg, RR etc) non-Ford cars of the pre war era check out the Nethercutt Collection in Sylmar. They do have a token Model T and Model A. Phone ahead if you would like a tour of the entire facility (you girlfriend would enjoy this part). There is no cost unless things have changed recently (not even a parking fee). (818) 364-6464

here are some pics I took during the first couple of days of our stay... By the way, we're having a blast, great people, beautiful places... and after all, the weather! I hope I won't have to get back home ever
