IMO you're an idiot if you ride without a helmet. That's just my opinion. I ride over 20,000 miles a year on a bike in Southern California and I WOULDN'T BE CAUGHT DEAD WITHOUT A HELMET ON - EVER! Sometimes, laws are written to protect stupid people from themselves. But I guess everyone has the god-given right to be a ****in' *****.

No more smoking, riding in the back of trucks, or riding without a helmet. Someone would have to be one red neck mother****er to let stuff like that really bother them. I mean, if people really think the world is coming down on them because they can't be as white trash as they normally are, I'd hate to see how people feel after something really bad happens.

Rather than being concerned about "License Plate" laws, we need to start preparing for the the downfall of the United States, which will happen. Anybody watch the program "Prophets of Doom" on History? The U.S. as we know it will be history in the near future. We are using up our resources, our money system is going to collaspe, we are in deep ****.

How did we go from crooked license plates to the apocalypse so fast? I'm stunned.

Just sayin'! I'm worried about the troops overseas fighting this ****ed up *******ed war against terror. Last thing on my mind are vehicular laws and cigarettes. Who ****ing cares?

No more sideways mounted MC Plates in Cali with this change. It's nothing more than another excuse to stop you and THEN give the car, MC, etc. the once over to see what they can find.

I care it's not the governments place to tell me what I can or can't do if the only person I'm putting in danger is myself.

Call it exercising my god given right to be a right to be a ***** :D

Second hand smoke does hurt other people. That is what no smoking laws are all about, protecting other people from your smoke. Keep it to yourself, and everyone is cool. Work out the rest with your insurance company on the cancer treatments.

What does that have to do with hot rods or even license plates not mounted so somebody can actually read them if needed. A little ridiculous to expect a cop to be able to read a sideways plate when he is chasing after your *** at 80-90mph in the dark wouldn't you think? Keep that in mind next time some idiot pulls a hit and run on your ride and you couldn't catch a plate number because it wasn't easy enough to read under a little pressure. Plates aren't there for decoration. They are there for a real purpose. Every single state in this country has these kinds of laws. You think CA is bad, try pulling a no tag stunt in Maryland and see how long you get away with it and what happens when they pull you over. They don't let a lot of **** slide in MD like they do here in CA. I am sure plenty of other state's cops don't either.

I wasn't talking about smoking I was talking about the helmet law. I doubt many innocent by standers are killed each year by un-helmeted noggins flyin' into them.

Ok, I'll agree with you on that one. I think it is pretty stupid to do, but a personal choice. Just so long as when you get hurt, my insurance doesn't have to take a hit to help pay for these poor decisions. But, doesn't seem to be a valid way to factor that out.

I agree. I'm just saying people should be able to do what they want as long as they are not putting anyone other than themselves in harms way.

Like no helmets , no seat belts, riding in the back of a truck. None of those are very smart but you're not likely to hurt anybody other than yourself.

If you're smart enough and old enough to get a license then you should be able to make those decisions on your own.

Any of you guys think those laws were p***ed to save lives and keep people safe, I've got some beach front property here in TN i'll sell you.

People are stupid. Plain and simple, the laws you are complaining about are meant to protect them. Unfortunately that they are an inconvenience. Ever see a bunch of kids
fly out of the back to a pickup, the adult was driving.

No and I hope I never do.

I don't have a problem with the child laws that why I said if you're old enough to have a license.
