I am using a 39' set up on my roadster. I am trying to figure out how to post the pics. I'll figure it out...
You can use the later backing plates and go hydro, this was a set up that I used prior to the rebuild. At least on the front..

A friend just changed his 36. He could NOT use the front due to bearing space. I believe he could uare the rear.

Did he use 36 spindles or 37 to 41 spindles?

I wondered about that. I tried to mount a set of wide fivers on my project and was thrown by the lack of bearing clearance. So, there is not a combo that works for adapting these on Model A rears?

He tried to use 36 drums on 40 spindles. 36 spindles are longer I believe.
