I found this cam stashed away. I do know it is for a Ford 302 and it is a solid lift cam. The specs are 289/303; 536/560; 310/320 @.050 248/258; lobe center 108 degree. The C.L 103 int., 114 ex. My question is what would this cam be good for?

looks to have a moderatly high powerband. Probably wouldn't work in an automatic car without a very high stall converter, and it probably needs 3.73 gears or better.

This is typical of a grind used for short oval track racing,106&108 lobe centers are common for them.

Would it work with a auto trans? I have a pretty much drag purpose car with high compression big heads and a high rise intake. The trans has a 4500 stall in it.

should work ok, probably not optimum for racing, but it would be all right for putting around :)

I was just thinking of putting this in the car for now until I get a custom ground cam. I can not make up my mind as what to run, a turbo set-up or a fogger system. Until then I will run this cam. Thanks for the help

thats a healthy cam for a small block ford! with your converter it will work ok. Youd better have good heads to flow enough air to take advantage of those specs! stock ford heads arent good over 4000 rpms and that cam will revv much higher than that.

Should have excellant throttle response, of course that is IF the carb has been correctly modified and the ignition system is correct.

Would this be a good nitrous cam?

Sure! The engine has got to make great power BEFORE you add NOS.

Go for it, it should Rock-n-Roll.

  15. It'd be great for a Top Fuel 289. She oughta START pullin pretty good around 6500 (2 car lengths from the finish line) and make power right up to the point when the rods let go. Good Nitrous cam though. Seriously, big cam for a 302. Unless you've got decent compression (your heads sound fine), a loose converter (if it's automatic trans), and a lot of gear (this would depend on rear tire diameter)

Thanks for the help everyone. Hopefully it will be at the Jalopy Showdown drags, and then I will see how it runs.

  17. My 2 cents was just added to. See if it makes better sense
