Play it safe and buy some new ones, they're already broken in... Not many lifter manufacturers anymore, lots are just rebadged and priced according to the name. A decent brand will do.

If you are able to identify the cam from the part number or even better the cam card and it will work for your application it's a safe bet "as long as you replace the lifters". Cheap insurance.

And then buy a new cam when it didn't work out
yeah Yeah I know "done it lots of time" but really for the few bucks of new ones, especially with the trouble people are having with flat tappet cams and today's oils, is it really worth it?

The question, is why the previous owner tossed the cam? Is it too wild for the street?

Is this a roller lifter design? I'd just re-use a roller cam and lifters. It's the flat tappet that wears due to rotation that has to be put back in order.

You might want to read the May 17 post on this thread. Also what engine is this Voodoo cam for? there's reports on a Mopar form of some Voodoo cams for BB Chr being way bigger than the specs said it should be.

Run the cam, replace the lifters. Be sure to put some break in oil or additive in and run the engine at at least 2,000-2,500 for the first 20-30 minutes. There is an alliance vendor that has the proper additive for break in and welll worth the price.
