    just have a question,trying to deal with cam companies, trying to replace cam in my bracket car. talked to 3 different companies,3 totally different cams have a 347 ford 10.5 vr jr heads 4500 stall 4.10 gear 2600 lb running a 235 /235 108 540/540 hydraluic dynoed at 473 at 6300 am thinking of going with a 252/256 106 578/585 solid any in put tks Butch trying to get it to make power up to 7000 rpm

    Yeah......roadsterpu nailed it. Dema Elgin is the best cam guy going. Not to be confused with Elgin Industries, a company that sells stock rebuilder parts. The above web site is correct. Go there......read.

    valve-piston clearances might be a worry to confront....I seem to run into this every single time (better to be lucky than good)

    Isky has some knarly solid cams. Engle has a bunch of new profiles for solids also. I have heard only good things about Elgin. You dont need more lift thats for sure, you just need a solid cam or a solid roller (even better but more $$$$). Duration is differnet hyd vs solid so keep that in mind.

    I have used Comp cams oval track cams, and adjusted the install degree either advanced or retarded.

    Oval track cams make good midrange HP and TQ. Mine makes power to 7400. I run mid 10's with this solid lifter cam.

    You might degree your cam before you change it. It may be what your lookin for. If not, It seem pretty close, degreeing is way cheaper then a new cam and lifters.
