Does anyone know the bearing number of the outside wheel bearing used on the camaro disc brake swap to early Ford spindle? Friend of mine wants to do this swap on his T Coupe. Thanx.
Go here for an article I did on this swap: http://www.fsra.org/kruz02_3/c9.html The article is missing the Camaro bearing numbers. I think I have those packed away, but somewhat accessible. I'll try to get them out in the morning and post them.
What a patient guy ... I thought you'd seen what you wanted to see.... Anyhoo, here's the only additional info I could find. Bear in mind the numbers are probably Magnum numbers. (Magnum made the disc brake kit I have.) Outer bearing cup = M-75-9 Outer bearing = M-75-10 What may help is the GM rotor parts number. That's EIS# D5214 (70-78 Camaro) Here's the Camaro blueprint in case you didn't see it at FSRA.org. (Article ***led - Front Stoppers) They do note on the blueprint that a special race is required. More than likely Magnum would sell that separate. Or ... you may be able to mike the spindle and take the rotor in with you as well as the bearing and have either the parts house or better yet a bearing house find a bearing race for you. I've done a bunch of bearing/seal swaps at bearing houses and they always come through.
Take note that the special race is for the inner bearing. I wasn't very clear about that. The outer bearing as far as I know is a stock item, both bearing and race. (What they call a cup I call a race.)
