Joe McNally demonstrates the new Pocket Wizard III, but you don't care, all you want to do is see the 611D/G Lakester running at speed at El Mirage. He got some nice shots.

Yep, five minutes of vidieo and 15 seconds showing the car in motion, and ten of them from a camera at the side of the track???? Infomercial...spam?

All advertisement. I bet you could have got the same shots with a Go-pro for a 16th of the cost.

Duh! It's an ad for Pocket Wizard. They make radio transmitters for firing flash units and cameras. This was for their just released Plus III.

What I found interesting is that they even knew about landracing, and that they thought it was a good subject for a promotional piece.

It's not spam, I'm just an old rodder and a user of Pocket Wizard products. Sorry I thought some of you would find it interesting.

I first ran Bonneville in 1959, and set records at the SCTA 1/2 mile drags (Riverside), El Mirage and Bonneville. I lived through 1950s/1960s hot rodding - been there and done that. I've answered a few questions and posted a few pictures on HAMB. But No MORE, I'll take my spam and leave.

Welcome to the kinder, gentler more politically correct HAMB,,where thin skin is the norm nowadays and if someone disagrees with a newbie they take a hike,

You have been involved in the Hot Rod hobby a long time and have records to back it up.

    1966 comes to mind,,

You've been there done that,, congratulations,,so has a hundred other guys and believe me your not the only one who's thread was not received with a standing ovation,,,get over it and move on. HRP

If he was trying to showcase his product, he wasn't very successful. I didn't mean to run you off, it sounds like you have a big history of lakes racing. Please post more on that, we allways need more of that....come back Shane:)

Some of you guys are a bunch of sorry sacks.

I thought the technology was fascinating, but I guess i'm biased, as I like hot rods, like land racing, and take pics of them for a living.
If you whiners have never looked at a car magazine, poster or poster, or watched a movie or TV show with hot rods in it, you've got a case.
Otherwise, shut the***** up. If you didn't like the thing, don't waste the bandwidth with a post bellyaching about it.

After watching some pro photographers put independent flash units INSIDE a car to illuminate the interior at night, while the photographer popped a flash outside, or "painting" cars at night by popping flashes with a hand-held flash unit while the camera's shutter was held open, I can see a whole lot of benefit to something like the shown system.

I can also see some pretty neat night-shots at drag races being taken with that system.

But you guys probably wouldn't be interested, because they'd be color pics on modern paper... not black-and-white and soft-focused.

If it wasn't for technology, and spam, we wouldn't have this forum for the elitists to air their opinions. Why we have to put everyone down is beyond me. This is not high school.
Someone has to pay the bills and someone has to experiment for progress to happen. Gripers offer little to any project.
Sorry we ran someone off that has something to contribute.

Re-read my post, i never said i didn't like it, i really do. I am an amateur photographer and like this kind of stuff. I, as well as others would have liked to see more footage from the cameras as well as some close-ups as to how they were mounted.

Brad54 i don't know you, but telling me and others who posted to shut the .... up is a little extreme, no? This is a public forum and as such folks can post their opinion, is mine or your response a waste of bandwidth? Again sorry if i offended anyone.

I didn't tell ALL others who posted to shut the***** up... just the negativos who had nothing nice to say and felt the need to run a guy off because he posted something he thought was cool but they didn't like.

When it comes to slinging*****, I rarely start it, but when I see others doing it and feel the need to put a stop to it, I'm not particularly tactful in the way I go about it. Nor do I care to be.

Sorry, I may have been a bit short with you, but I said I'm working on it.
