Hi Folks - new here so not sure if in correct forum.

NOS Small block chev camshaft , about 20 ? - 30 yrs old.

Only Numbers stamped on rear journal end is " 474790 "

Can anyone tell me what Brand & who ground it incl Specs eg lift , duration , lope spread.

I looked in a TRW listing, not theirs , same for Elgin
Its a hyd grind & mild (I know what its supposed to be, but fear I've been sold a "lucky-dip " or Poss wrong cam in box )

Anyone reckonise those #'s ? no other letters etc just those as above, but does have the "CWC" cast in its body.

    Thanks all

Thanks , yes I know that - was just stating to separate it from an oem ex GM sourced stick

It also has only 1 blob of dark red paint at 1 end

no EP1 OR EP6 cast in it either

    cheers again

Thanks for that input - I've already done that ,

7 tend to agree with not many cams with same/similar lobes , but on checking them .. there actually is.
and this isn't an oem over the counter cam in the gm cardboard tube , its an aftermarket one & for this actual grind its supposed to be , ther's TWO actual grinds/cams with same exh/inlet lobes in lift & duration BUT 2 different & important LCA
thats why i've posted the number - its stamped not cast in

someone will know it from an old manufacturers listing
    its in a clevite box

    thanks

Not too hard to figure out the specs... including LCA... with a degree wheel and dial indicator.

    Well it is actually - if you have to set-up a crank,in a block,with suitable piston/rod , timing set , on a stand etc...

Shouldn't have to go to that length... ever measured a Sig Erson TQ20 ? cause you ain't gonna get the same figures on a degree wheel to those that are stated on the timing card , I know that for a fact (& probably repeated across other brands too )

You didn't mention the option of setting cam up in a wood lathe with a degree wheel , 2 tappets & dial gauges with a cobbled-up fixture but again , the number I've earlier stated must be listed somewhere....

    Cheers
