I have too many for the time, space and money I have. I pay to store them and have for years. My problem is I like weird stuff that doesn't have a lot of value.
1953 Buick straight 8 with attached dynaflow
Model A engine with broken head. Not sure of condition
    1927 Chevy 4
    1928 Chevy 4
    151 Pontiac 4
2 or 3 300 ford engines in pieces, but good parts
    230 Chevy 6 in pieces.
couple of 3 speed trans for the Chevy
FMX trans and bellhousing for one of the 300 Fords, a 4 spd and 3 spd for them also
1957 Cadillac 365 with trans that will be going into my 1938 Dodge. This is a good runner that I pulled out of the Caddy for an LS swap. The others are destined for something, but what? I guess I'll figure it out if I ever retire.

A buddy once accused me of being jealous of all his girl friends, to which I said "I might be jealous of the quantity but not the quality. same is true for engine/motors. To answer the original question, nope.

I got rid of 8 and have the count down to a more manageable 14. o_O

If youre gonna collect something theres smaller lighter stuff than engines, stamps, rocks, human skulls. But I understand the draw to pile up engines.

I think collecting engines is a nice hobby. But in time I found that I would need to think about moving to a place where I can't have a bunch of engines. So, if anyone around here want's some small block Ford engines and parts. W, C and M versions. Or a Studebaker OHV six and three speed. Or a 1500 Fiat and four speed and 2000 with 5 speed apart. Come on down. Bring a truck or some kind of hauler.

I always said a guy can never have too many cars, guitars, or girls. Well, I'm down to one girl, mostly one (HAMB) car, and 10 guitars, even though my hands no longer allow me to play. I do have a complete, spare 327, a 350 block with cranks, rods, pistons to make a 327 or 350, 2-283's, and a 57 265 block and crank, rods, pistons. And several sets of heads, manifolds, carbs, distributors, etc. And then there's the 454 for the OT Bracket car. Plus a half dozen transmissions. "I'm an engine hoarder, but I can change, if I have to, I guess". I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

I used to have a bunch. My last two moves ended my collecting days, as my body is no longer up to moving the heavy stuff. I gave my neighbor my 65 327, and a 350 when I left Fresno. I have one, standard bore 327 left, at my dads place, which I will hold out on.

Guess it's a bad sign that I'm not sure how many I have, but the list includes 2 Buick 401 Nailheads, a '57 283, a '66 Nova 283 with a PG, and several Y blocks. I'm keeping the Y blocks, but would sell the others.

I do need to get a few vehicles to put them in but they could also be used as insurance,as long as there are extra motors the ones in use might not go bad.

I am afraid I also have this sickness. I have 4 392 Hemi's, 4 big Block Chevys, 2 327's, and 2 351 Cleveland's. I didn't realize how bad this addiction was until I saw in the thread above that "williebill" says he would get rid of a couple of 401 Nailheads and my first reaction was man I need those too.

That's like a girl too pretty, a car too fast or too much money. No such thing!

  16. All my concentration is on getting my garage done this summer, and then I will start winnowing down my collection.
    International 6 cyl and tranny
    2 4 bolt Chev 350s
    55 Chev 235
    76 Chev 250 6 cyl
    several BB Chev 454
    68 Corvette numbered replacement 427
    2 Ford FE 428 + super T10
    1 Ford FE 335 hp 390
    1 Ford FE 390
    2 Ford 302
    1, 71 Ford 429 +C6 tranny
    1, 76 Ford 460 +C6
    and many more.
I had a plan, but long term illness and age, has prevented me from doing all I had planned. I am now slowly selling off the excess to concentrate on 2 trucks, my son's 47 International (Chev 400 sb), and my Cameo (Chev454 bb).
Horse trading used to be fun, but there now seems to be a lot of people that think I just fell off a turnip truck. ( An idiot found out that I have the 427, and offered me $500.00. I was not kind to him). My son knows the plan, and nothing stupid is going to happen.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any spares due to space constraints. I need to acquire a few.

  18. Mid '50's before I had a license, I started picking Olds engines and parts up when I could find them. I had a few 303's, a lot of chrome junk, intakes, even a roller cam. None of it ever saw the street while I owned it, but I had fun displaying it.

I decided last summer I had too many. Started selling them off on CL. Half a dozen 351W, 2 - 351C, a 460/C6, my 292 Y block with ECG-Z heads and intake, a couple 302's and a Boss 302. Then started on the intakes, carbs, wheels, headers, cranks, rods, cams...….kept waaaayyy too much around for years. After selling for 6 months, I used the proceeds to buy a very nice rolling chassis from Pete and Jakes. No out of pocket money, just parts sales. There's gold in them thar piles.

The Windsors are wasting shed space. But the others are cool.
