    Greetings and salutations.

I was sent here from another car forum with this picture.

Going through a photo album recently handed down to me, I am trying to identify the year of this model T. I'm not sure if it is even possible as I do not know anything about Ts.

Personally, this car does not look black to me. I could be wrong, maybe it is just dusty or the way it looks in the pic. That opinion plus the full doors is about all I can personally add to the mystery.

The only other thing I can add is that the driver was born in 1894 and the p***enger in 1896. Personally, the driver appears to be 18-20 ish and the p***enger 16-18 ish.

(OK, I've tried to resize this but it keeps coming out LARGE. Really sorry about that!)

Thanks in advance for any ***istance you can give me.

most likely a 1915, it MAY be an EARLY 1916, they looked the same, the later 1916's were the 1st of the black radiators:

  8. I think Dean is probably right. My guess,(and it would be a guess) would be 1915-16. It has electric headlights, but it appears to still has gas coach lamps, so it is just post br***-era.

If you go to the MTFCA website and peruse all the annual change info and the huge Model T encyclopedia section, you'll get a m***ive overload of change detail...but as pointed out above changes did not follow years in many cases and the further details that might actually pin the date are not visible.
Early and Late T's were available in colors, but I think the period of that one is in the timespan in which all T's really were black.

It may be older than a 15 I would think. Take a good look at the radiator style; it is a br*** radiator shell, not steel.

A little google search time should tell what was the last year of the br*** one.

My vote would be late '14 early '15. The front fenders are flat on top, the wishbone attaches to the bottom of the axle, the radiator cap has the higher "fins" and it appears that the hood is rivited. The electric lights first came out in the 15 models although could be found on some of the late '14's

the 14's had a flat dash and the cowl lamps were square ...

1915's had the flat fenders, the late 1916's were the "modern" curved fenders ...

    1914 T:

    It is EITHER a 1915 (not a 1914) OR an EARLY 1916.

That is my final answer (1st answer too) :)

As I said late '14, friend of mine had a 14 with the electric lamps etc. And my Mom had a '14 with all the gas lamps.

Thank you all for your ***istance. I shall call it 1915. Give or take a year is close enough for my needs.

Thanks again for access to your vast knowledge!!!
