My buddy just had his Ford converted over to disc brakes on the front. When the shop reinstalled his wheels the rotors knocked the centers right outta his wheels. Rather then grinding on the rotor for clearance or just putting his centers in his glovebox/trunk and letting him know that there was an issue...they just trimmed the tabs off of em and stuck them back on with some glue. Needless to say, it wasn't long before they ended up launching themselves into regions unknown never to be seen again. He's pretty laid back and was just going to buy some new centers and call it done. The problem is that everywhere that he's called told him that they can't get caps for his wheels. I took a couple photos of one of the centers that were on the back. The center has an "Eagle" logo on it, I don't know if the wheels are Eagles or not. If anyone can point us in the direction of some centers that fit we'd be very greatful. He doesn't care what brand they are as long as they fit the wheels. Here's a couple pics of what we're looking for. Appears to be a Torque Thrust II look a like. HAMB appropriate??? Thanks in advance for any ***istance guys!
Did you try the vendors here? Caps shown not for that style of wheel. Place an ad in wanted section here
I haven't hit any vendors up yet... I didn't really know what I should be asking for. I never did think the centers looked right on those wheels, but they were already on the car when he bought it. What should we be looking for? More of a cone/bullet style of cap? Thanks!
Likely American Racing Torque Thrust II-look on back of rims for manufacturer and size. Tell vendors here ***le of your thread - they can tell you more
Just a TTT with additional pics of the backside of the wheels...Also heading over to the cl***ifieds to add a Wanted post with a link to this thread. Thanks in advance for any ***istance.
AEWC stands for American Eagle Wheel Corp. , Summit carries their center caps if you can`t find them anywhere else , here`s a link http://store.summitracing.com/egnse...r+caps&N=700+115+4294880564&Ntk=KeywordSearch
The only ones I've been able to find so far bolt on. These wheels need a cap that will snap in. I'm not saying that snap in caps aren't out there...I just haven't been able to track any down as of yet.
Yes sir. I did go through all five pages of caps in the link you provided. None of the snap in caps were listed as fitting a 211 wheel under the applications listings (which is what I ***ume these are).
Are push through caps an option?? They were used on some Eagle wheels so maybe might work for you although they maybe hard to find as I had to make some for a guy recently
If we have to go with push through caps, I think he'd rather have some of the ones that you make that are more pointed. At this point I think he'd be happy with anything that doesn't leave him riding around with gaping holes where his caps should be.
