Has the skeletal Pierce Arrow powered (supposedly) streamliner shown on the 'American Pickers' show in 2011 resurfaced? Looked like an unfinished LSR type project. Sitting outside, in rough shape, near Daytona Beach. Steve
I am definately not up on CCCA full cl***ics, but I have heard about self lubing ch***is on some...but never saw the pieces that they used. It just looks like a gear pump from what little I can see. If it looks like homemade brackets, then it could be something done later, like the homemade intakes.
This sounds like fun.You two youngsters quit fussing,or get out and walk.Hehehehe. Good luck.Have fun.Be safe. Leo
If I were forced to make a guess, I'd say it's a tachometer drive. The generator doesn't spin at crank speed so some gearing would be in order. Considering that the distributor is driven from the center of the engine by the cam, that plan would be quite the undertaking so the back of the gennie makes good sense. Hey, it's my story so I can tell it my way
A fenderless 32 roadster with a hopped up flathead V12 that goes 112 MPH isn't a hot rod??? What if they put in a Camaro engine, Camaro transmission, Camaro rear axle, Camaro front suspension, Camaro seats and painted it Camaro red? Would it be a hot rod then?
The Auburn's and Duesenbergs that I am familiar with had "Bijur" ch***is lubricators, not very much different than you can see in many milling machines in various shops. A central reservoir, and a pretty fancy 'clockwork' like 'timing' (? if you want to call it that) mechanism driven from the odometer. copper lines running the length of the frames to spring shackels and king pins.
Thanks for the invite. Im just a few miled away. But its whatever like I would want to see something that bad*** in person.
